Hail Weston villagers take part in Rogationtide walk

Posted on Tuesday 11 July 2017
Villagers of Hail Weston recently took part in an annual Christian festival, blessing the land and marking the parish boundary.

The Rogationtide walk, organised by the Revd John Alford of St Nicholas’ Church, was centred on local farmland owned by Richard Squires.

Throughout the walk prayers were said and hymes sung, while blessing the crops and livestock on the farm.

Revd John says of the day: “The day went very well, and including children we had about 40 people take part”.

In addition to the religious festival, walkers also had the opportunity to see the Sacred Stones site in the village.
