Posted on Wednesday 26 July 2017
An excellent turnout saw Private J T Cook, 1st Battalion of the Cambridgeshire Regt. remembered by many who gathered on Sunday 23rd July to mark 100 years since Private Cook was buried in Ely Cemetery.

The memorial service, organised by Members of the Cambs 876 Remembered, were joined by the Mayor of Ely, Col Colin Elsden DL, Deputy Lieutenant of Cambridgeshire, members of the Royal British Legion and Army Cadets from Ely Detachment, Cambridgeshire Army Cadet Force.

The service, led by Canon David Pritchard, was very moving as the Last Post and Reveille was played by a trumpeter from the British Legion. Many Standards were also on parade which were dipped as a mark of respect as those attending stood smartly to attention.

Col Mark Knight MBE, Cadet Commandant said "It was a well attended parade and shows the support for the Cambs 876 Remembered Project within the Community".
