Parish Giving Scheme Launch Events

Posted on Wednesday 30 August 2017
A word from Bishop David, Bishop of Huntingdon.

Dear Colleagues,

The Parish Giving Scheme ( was launched in our Diocese on 1 June and has already been taken up enthusiastically. It is a national initiative which (at no cost to you) provides a practical tool for donations to be collected on a regular basis by Direct Debit (with prompt Gift Aid straight back to you) and also for encouraging regular appropriate increases.

To allow as many parishes as possible to hear about and access the Scheme we are holding four Roadshows and we warmly invite your parish to send delegates to one of them:

  • Monday 4 September at 7pm in St Mary’s Church, Great Shelford CB22 5EL
  • Tuesday 19 September at 7pm in St George’s Church, Littleport CB6 1PS
  • Saturday 23 September at 10.30am in St James Church, Little Paxton PE19 6NF
  • Wednesday 27 September at 7pm in St Peter’s Church Hall, Wisbech PE13 1HP

We are delighted that the national lead on church giving, John Preston, and his team will be joining us to give the main presentations. Alongside these, parishes which have already started using the scheme will tell us about their experience, and we will have a good range of resource material available for you to take away with you. The presentation will run for 90 minutes and be followed by refreshments and a chance to ask individual questions. There is no need to book: please just turn up.

Please note that Becky Fanning is no longer working for the diocese and queries about the scheme should now go to Sheena Bridgman at

With my very best wishes,

Bishop David
