Another Pot of Coffee

Posted on Monday 4 September 2017
Whilst working as an applied linguist specialising in writing for academic purposes, Irena has had a long association with retreat and quiet day ministry.

She has written guides to exploring prayer and stillness and as a spiritual director has been privileged to walk alongside lay, ordinand and ordained Christians and non-believers in their search for a deepening spiritual awareness.

Her first book Coffee Pot Journal was the result of having been asked about her own faith and daily walk with God, that was eight years ago. After five editions, reaching across Europe, USA, Canada and New Zealand, Irena had assumed ‘enough’.  However, many requests later, many ‘When is the next one coming?’ questions, have led to Another Pot of Coffee.

The format is the same as before, daily readings of prayers, thoughts, some philosophical, some just rants, poems and biblical texts but always whilst trying to walk in faith.

As a grateful recipient from New Zealand wrote ‘This really was the Christmas present that lasted all year’. Another reader from Aberdeenshire said ‘Irena has a gift for bringing God into the busyness of our everyday lives. In her daily reflections, she helps us bring our worries, our joys and our questions to the throne of grace. Those quiet moments with a cup of coffee and Irena’s thoughts, prayers and poems create on oasis of peace and prayerfulness each day. Can’t wait for Another Pot of Coffee to be in print’.

The price of the book is £10 and all the profit goes to charity. Books can be purchased by emailing
