Young people

The Mission Team of Ely Diocese believes passionately in the importance of engaging relevantly, effectively, and early with young people within our churches, schools, and communities.

We also work with parishes, youth agencies, leaders and individuals to strategically develop a Vision for Youthwork, and within that offer events, training, or resources that breed an enhanced confidence in working with young people.

Within the Mission Team, Rachael Heffer oversees youth development and seeks to engage with churches, Youth leaders, regional and national Youth agencies, and individuals to explore how together we can encourage growth in our work with young people.

We are currently seeking a Secondary Schools Coordinator to join the team and help us to engage with a few schools in the diocese and model and develop good practice and engage with local Churches.

Rachael can be contacted via the box on the right or via mobile 07945 638803.

We would love to work with you in developing a growing vision for your youth ministry, tackling key challenges that you are facing, or explore options for resources, events, or engaging with young people in your local community.

Youth Leader Gatherings

The Mission Team is part of the Cambridge Collective group of Youthwork agencies. This collaborative group of partners put on a termly gathering (called 'Collective Termly ') which is open to all those involved in paid or voluntary youthwork roles in whatever context around the diocese.

For information or dates of these gatherings, contact Rachael Heffer.

The Children 's Society

We support the work of The Children 's Society. This is a charity which works to safeguard, defend and protect children and young people through campaigns and the provision of a range of services. We partner with them to raise awareness of the issues affecting children and young people and they will often be represented at our training events.
