Operations Manager, based in St Neots, Cambridgeshire

The Diocese of Ely now seeks an Operations Manager to support the Changing Market Towns project within the newly united Parish of St Neots with Eynesbury.

Purpose of the Role

  • To enable delivery of the Changing Market Towns project by offering a support role in monitoring, reporting and managing resources
  • The Operations Manager will be an active player in moving the Changing Market Towns project forward, working closely with the Team Rector, laity and the Bishop’s Change Officer for Market Towns
  • The role will assist the Team Rector, Parish Standing Committee and Parochial Church Council with key administrative and financial functions

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the clergy and leadership team (under the guidance of the town leader), to realise the objectives of the Market Towns project
  • Assisting clergy, church officers and lay volunteers in the change towards co-ordinated and effective working patterns
  • Collating data and assisting with the reporting and measuring of the project
  • Undertaking administrative management such as time management and overseeing payroll and pension operations for the employees directly engaged in project delivery
  • Overseeing the allocation of church time and resources and giving guidance to parishes on fundraising and bookkeeping activities

Terms and Conditions

  • Salary: £26,000 (for a full-time position)
  • Working hours: full-time (35 hours per week)
  • Membership of The Church Workers Pension Fund (non-contributory)
  • Initial three-year contract (fixed-term)
  • The employing entity will be the Parochial Church Council of the Parish of St Neots with Eynesbury (The Ely Diocesan Board of Finance / ‘Diocese of Ely’ is not the employer of this post)
  • This role is subject to an enhanced disclosure from the DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service)
