Rector (House for Duty), Church of St Botolph, Cambridge

A unique opportunity to serve as the Rector of the ancient and beautiful Church of St Botolph in the heart of historic Cambridge on a house-for-duty basis.

The Church has traditional and ongoing links with town and gown. It stands at the ancient Trumpington Gate of the city and maintains a commitment to welcome visitors, wayfarers and passers-by. We retain a lively appreciation of the Book of Common Prayer, from which all of our services are taken.

We are looking for someone who has:

  • a commitment to the BCP not only for its language but as an inspiring vehicle for faith, belief, worship and preaching;
  • knowledge and appreciation of the place of music in worship and the benefits of a strong choral tradition;
  • an interest in people and a willingness to engage both the regular congregation and the 30,000 or so visitors each year from many different countries, faiths and cultures.
