Bishop Sarah's Installation service

On Sunday 21 June 2026, the Right Reverend Sarah Clark was installed at Ely Cathedral, swearing an oath of allegiance and due obedience on the Augustine Gospels, the oldest surviving illustrated Latin Gospels dating from the sixth century. This 'precious manuscript' has been described as having ‘unparalleled significance’ in British history. The book is known as one of the the 'greatest treasures' of the Parker Library at Corpus Christi College, where it usually resides.
