Recognise is a national week of recognition for everyone involved in ministry with children, young people, and their families.
There are so many individuals giving tirelessly to nurture the faith of the emerging generations. We echo our heartfelt thanks across the Diocese, in appreciation for all those who are involved in children and youth ministry. From Toddler groups to Baptisms, from Messy Church to Communion Prep, Thank you all for your loving minstry with children, young people and families throughout our church communities.
A prayer of thanks
Lord Jesus,
Thank you for all those who serve children and young people in your Church.
Thank you for the many acts of loving service and hours spent tirelessly serving in small and unseen ways to nurture faith in the emerging generations.
Bless the work of our children and youth ministers. Strengthen their hands. So that through their work young people may be invited into abundant life with you.
We pray also for our whole church community;
Make us willing to be communities that abundantly welcome children and young people.
Like St Benedict who spoke of listening to the youngest person in the room, help us to listen carefully to the voice of the young person.
We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, who brings life in all its fullness,
