Sharing Christingle 50 in your Parish

Posted on Monday 26 November 2018
The Children's Society have produced a wealth of fantastic resources to help parishes promote Christingle, in this, its 50th year!

This is a very special year for The Children’s Society’s Christingle as it marks 50 years since the first Christingle service in this country.

Across the country, more people than ever are getting involved with Christingle celebrations, with churches, schools and over 30 cathedrals ready to hold their own anniversary celebrations.

Please help in celebrating this anniversary, helping to make this the biggest year for Christingle yet.

This pack is intended to help you promote Christingle. Do feel free to use any of the following sections that you might find helpful and please do tailor this information and amend the suggestions so that it fits with your regular updates and e-news, as well as your audiences’ needs.

For 50 years, Christingle services have helped The Children’s Society to support more than a million children and young people. Donations from Christingles help our project workers be there for children in this country who are running away from home or care, experiencing or at risk of exploitation or abuse, in care or leaving care, experiencing mental health and emotional well-being issues and young refugees and migrants. Working with them one-to-one and in groups, our project workers keep these children safe and help them to overcome the trauma they have experienced – so that they can enjoy a first Christmas full of hope and free from fear.

By working together, we can bring love to the hearts of children who feel ignored, sanctuary to the lives of those who feel unsafe and peace to the minds of children who feel like they simply don’t matter.

We are grateful for your ongoing support and for the difference you will make to young people’s lives. If you have any questions about Christingle or if you need any more information, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.
