As a Church we seek to be a people that ‘serves the community and enables others to encounter Jesus’. Our Café with its kitchen facilities is an integral part of our mission to Romsey and is a welcoming and safe space for all as we reach out with the Good News of God's love.
Our Café operating model allows for paid staff for essential roles and on using volunteers from the Church, and beyond, to help with serving the customers. An important aspect of the ‘Manager's’ role, will be to enthuse build and manage a team of reliable helpers.
Are you someone (or a couple) with a strong Christian commitment and a vision for the potential of this side of St Philip's life? Your character and drive will be central to our decision and you will love to welcome and talk with people while serving them with good food & drink.
We are very flexible on most practical aspects of the catering and opening times and expect you to lead on working up the operating details, though we naturally have a limited overall financial budget.
We will give you broad responsibility that embraces everything that goes on in our Café: sessions, timing, purchasing and menu choices, budgets, cooking, food safety, as well as looking after the Café staff. You will be a member of St Philip's staff team and get help from others with practical aspects (equipment/HR/cleaning/admin) as well as the support of a group of existing motivated volunteers in specific activities.
