Dear Churchwardens,
You are requested to complete the annual Articles of Enquiry, which again use the online Microsoft Forms system to enable quick reporting and analysis. The questions are largely shaped by the fact that all PCCs will be required to register as charities by the Charity Commission within the next 5 years. You are asked about policies and procedures for financial governance, health and safety, data protection, safeguarding, building management and care of staff, volunteers, and visitors. These procedures are not all legally mandated for every church (so don’t worry if you don’t yet have them all). Our aim is to track how far PCCs have come in implementing those that they need. This will help us to plan training and support, so that all our PCCs are able to complete Charity Registration by the deadline of 31 March 2031.
Before you start filling in the questionnaire, we suggest that you read through the pdf version of the form, look at the questions and discuss them with the relevant people such as your Parish Safeguarding Officer, Church Fabric Officer or Incumbent.
Please note this questionnaire can only be completed electronically. If you have all the information to hand it shouldn’t take too long to complete. You will have to complete the form in one go as you do not have the ability to save and complete the questionnaire at a later date.
