Annual Meetings (APCMs) and Elections in 2021

Introduction

The deadline by which APCMs need to have taken place is 31 May 2021, as per the Church Representation Rules.  The Archdeacons’ office will be in touch with parishes with arrangements for the swearing in of churchwardens, which will take place over a number of dates in early June 2021.

Owing to current circumstances, and the uncertainty around when in-person meetings will again be possible, the Bishop has made provision by means of the below instrument for APCMs to take place remotely, via Zoom or similar.

Once the meetings have taken place, Annual Accounts should be sent to the Diocesan Office in the usual way. Accounts should also be filed with the Charity Commission and the Diocesan Office notified of Deanery Synod representatives and PCC officers.

This notification should include all contact details - with the appropriate GDPR approval in place. In the case of Deanery Synod members, the PCC secretary should inform the Rural Dean, Lay Chair and Deanery Secretary as to who the Deanery Representatives are.
