For people of any age, music can nurture faith and support growing discipleship through intergenerational learning and worship.
Music is an important element in the lives of many children and young people, and in many of our schools and parishes there are opportunities to sing in a church choir, play the organ or be part of a worship band.

Music Resources
Here are some national resources which you may find helpful. Many of the resources are not produced or endorsed by the Diocese. - The RSCM Young Voices Toolkit offers a step-by-step approach to involving children in your church’s music, including what you should think about before you start; structures and plans to develop; the resources you will need; and how to attract and motivate children to sing.
- The Choir Project is a new programme for the Church of England in partnership with RSCM to help up to 200 parish churches across England establish or renew choirs for children and young people.
- ISingPOP is launching a new project with the Church of England supporting 300 churches to create new gatherings where families from local primary schools will be invited to explore faith together, drawing on the energetic worship songs children already know from school.
- Fischy Music provide child-friendly worship songs and training for church workers, volunteers and musicians.
- Out of the Ark Music provide songs for school assemblies, church children’s groups and all-age worship including their Sunday’s Cool Series, and Christmas, Easter and Harvest themes.
