#EverydayFaith

What is #EverydayFaith?

As part Ely2025, the Diocesan Strategy, #EverdayFaith seeks to help nurture a confident people of God, through supporting people in their everyday faith and life. The report Setting God’s People Free (Archbishop’s Council 2017, General Synod report GS 2056) reminds us that by far the majority of people in the Church of England are lay people who spend most of their waking hours not engaged in Church-related activities. Our challenge, therefore, is to support these people in the parts of their lives which are spent being active Christians in a wide range of contexts – at work, in education, in the family, or in the community. #EverydayFaith lies under Lever 1 of the Diocesan Strategy.

#EverydayFaith Sunday

The Diocese of Ely marked 3 March 2019 as #EverydayFaith Sunday. A number of clergy and LLMs preached on this theme on that Sunday. Ely Cathedral, Soham, ChristChurch Ely, Christ Church Orton Goldhay, and Littleport St George, amongst others, committed to having #EverydayFaith as their theme that day. Sermon resources and suggestions for intercessions are available online - see below - (and can be used at any time). Next year's EverydayFaith Sunday will be 23 February 2020.
