What is #EverydayFaith?
As part Ely2025, the Diocesan Strategy, #EverdayFaith seeks to help nurture a confident people of God, through supporting people in their everyday faith and life. The report Setting God’s People Free (Archbishop’s Council 2017, General Synod report GS 2056) reminds us that by far the majority of people in the Church of England are lay people who spend most of their waking hours not engaged in Church-related activities. Our challenge, therefore, is to support these people in the parts of their lives which are spent being active Christians in a wide range of contexts – at work, in education, in the family, or in the community. #EverydayFaith lies under Lever 1 of the Diocesan Strategy.
The Diocese of Ely is marking 3 March 2019 as #EverydayFaith
Sunday. We hope that as many clergy and LLMs as possible will consider
preaching on this theme on that Sunday. Ely Cathedral, St Mary the
Great in Cambridge, and Littleport St George, amongst others, are already committed to having #EverydayFaith as their
theme that day. Sermon resources and suggestions for intercessions will
be available on this page during February.
Further resources will be posted on this page in due course.
