Curates and Clergy visit our link Diocese of Kigali in Rwanda
A group of eight curates and clergy from the Diocese of Ely visited our link Diocese of Kigali in Rwanda, visiting local churches, communities and experiencing life in Kigali. The visit was coordinated by Steve Rothwell and Kathryn Waite, who visited Kigali together with curates Christian Osborne, Claire Brockelsby, Jen Forester, Leo E Orobor, Sarah Newns and Sharon Byrne. They took part in a Community Day, helping to build a road near a local church; planted trees to create a windbreak for a church in the mountains; visited local schools; met with members of the Mothers' Union to hear about the projects they support; visited genocide memorial sites; dropped in on the equivalent of a 'Bishop's Study Day'; attended and took part in church services, and generally experienced the joy of church community life in Kigali.
