Parishes are asked annually to provide Statistics for Mission data to the Church of Engalnd Research and Statistics team. This information is invaluable in helping parishes, dioceses and the national church understand attendance data in our church communities and help us plan accordingly to grow the church in our region.
You can find out more about the Statistics for Mission collection and how you might use the graphical dashboards that are produced from this on the PCC pages of this website here.
Not to be confused with a parishes responsibility to provide its Annual Report and Accounts, the Return of Parish Finance annual submission is similar in purpose to that of the Statistics for Mission returns in that it seeks to help parishes, dioceses and the national church understand at a glance financial trends for the parish over time.
This information is then available in an easy-to-view graphical "one-pager" for parishes and Diocese to use as they consider most appropriate.
It is likely to be the PCC Treasurer who collects this information, and you can find out more about how to access this data on the Return of Parish Finance page here.
The Research and Statistics team have mapped census and deprivation data onto parish boundaries to help parishes use this information to support the work they do.
The information is available in a number of downloadable MS Excel spreadsheets from their website here.
