Youth Ministry Hubs

Deanery-based youth ministry hubs are there to provide a space for those involved in youth ministry, whether lay or ordained, volunteer or employed, with established youth ministry or just thinking about starting.

Cambridge Youth Ministry Hub

The Cambridge Deanery Youth Ministry Hub will be meeting from 3pm until 5pm, all at St Barnabas Church, Cambridge (unless otherwise advertised) on these dates:

  • Wednesday 6 March
  • Wednesday 17 April
  • Wednesday 29 May (location and time TBC)
  • Wednesday 3 July

What is a Youth Ministry Hub?

A youth ministry hub is a locally rooted, locally led, centrally supported, contextual space, where people can meet to share learning and build connections. It's a space that recognises that everyone has something to bring, a space to listen to others, to share stories, successes and lessons.

Who can access them?

Anybody already working with young people or anyone who would like to start youth work. They are an ecumenical, broad open space, creating cohesion without conformity.

What resources are available?

The hope is that resources will be created locally, and shared with the wider diocese. The hub leaders will be pivotal in signposting and gathering information on available resources.

How can you access them?

The hubs meet in different areas, at different times, and flexibly respond to the needs of the people at the heart of them.

What other support is available?

Alongside the hub leaders, others working with young people in each area and the Mission and Ministry team are available to offer support. The hubs should help to identify any training needs, which can then be offered centrally or locally, depending on the context.

How can I sign up to attend a hub?

To sign up, please be in touch with Mike Kelly, our Youth and Families Development Officer on mike.kelly@elydiocese.org so he can get the biscuits in!
