Baptisms - information for churches
Each week 2,200 families have a child under 12 baptised in the Church of England. In the Diocese of Ely, our churches baptise around 1500 children each year. This is an incredible opportunity to make contact with families and their guests, sharing the meaning of baptism and why it’s just the beginning of an amazing journey.
If you are a minister or someone involved with the planning baptism services, visit the Church of England's Church Support Hub for lots of ideas and support.
This is a Worship and storytelling resource for those working with babies, toddlers and young children. The resource can be used in a variety of ways to suit different settings; as a simple Sunday service, a toddler service or a mid-week baby and toddler singing session.

The Diocese of Ely has produced a ’baptism toolkit’ to inspire you and help you think about your baptism ministry. The hope is that it will help equip you by providing helpful advice and information about baptism ministry and follow up ideas and resources. It is intended for baptism ministry with families of those coming for a baptism of a child aged under 12.
