The Office of Churchwarden is an annual office and it is a legal requirement for all churchwardens to be admitted every year by the Diocesan Registrar or Archdeacon.
Admission of Churchwardens
We would be delighted if you could join us when we will admit all Churchwardens to office on Sunday 14 June at Ely Cathedral. Refreshments will be available in the Lady Chapel from 3pm with the formal Service of Admission of Churchwardens taking place at 4pm.

We encourage all churchwardens to use this form to make their declaration - and to tell us whether you are coming to the service at Ely Cathedral.
If you are unable to complete the form electronically, please download a copy, and bring it to the service or return it to our office via email: archdeacons.events@elydiocese.org. Please do not post your completed form to our office.
- If you are standing down as Churchwarden, please pass on this information to your successor.
- Please also notify us in writing that you have stepped down, so we can update the diocesan database accordingly.
Parking
Please try to share transport with fellow and or neighbouring churchwardens. Ely is very fortunate to have several free parking areas all within walking distance to the Cathedral. We regret that parking will not be available at the Bishop’s House and what was our previous office site on Barton Road.
As with our previous Admission Services in the Cathedral, we envisage this to be a special occasion and so encourage you to make every effort to attend this service. We look forward to welcoming and meeting with you on Sunday 14 June.
