Prison chaplains

Prison chaplaincy has been established in the UK since the nineteenth century.  Today, chaplains work within a multi-faith team, and are available to support prisoners and staff of all faiths and none.

Prison chaplains lead worship, conduct visits, lead groups, and oversee chaplaincy volunteers.

The presence of chaplains provides access to spiritual support for members of their denominations who are in prison, as well as wider pastoral support for the whole prison community.

Chaplains for each of the prisons within the Diocese of Ely are:-

David Kinder - HMP Littlehey

Paul Foster - HMP Whitemoor
