Confirmations

Confirmation marks the point in the Christian journey at which you affirm for yourself the faith into which you have been baptized and your intention to live a life of committed discipleship.

This affirmation is confirmed through prayer and the laying on of hands by the confirming bishop. The Church also asks God to give you power through the Holy Spirit to enable you to live in the way of Jesus.

Confirmation services take place throughout the year in the diocese. If you wish to find out more about confirmation, please speak to your vicar or one of the leaders in your church.

More information about confirmation in the Church of England can be found here.

Clergy wishing to present candidates for confirmation at a service in the cathedral should book through Ely Cathedral website.

Confirmation services take place at churches across the diocese. Please contact the Bishop's Senior Chaplain for more information or see the schedule below.
