The Revd Canon Brian Atling retired as Chair of the Diocese of Ely Finance Committee at the end of December (2022). We thank Brian for his leadership and sound judgement in this key role. Brian will continue to be a member of the Diocese of Ely Finance Committee.
Bishop Stephen has invited Canon Tim Walters to take on the role of Chair of the Diocese of Ely Finance Committee from the start of January 2023. Tim is already a member of the Diocese of Ely Finance Committee and serves on Bishop’ Council and several other key Diocesan committees. Tim is a Lay Canon of Ely Cathedral and Parochial Church Council (PCC) Treasurer of Croydon with Clopton. Tim brings long experience of senior financial leadership in the NHS.

I am delighted that Tim Walters has accepted my invitation to succeed Brian. Tim brings his long experience of financial management in the NHS and first-hand knowledge of church finances.
